Meet Vikki
Vikki Goodwin is a true Texan. Raised in Dallas, she graduated from UT and the LBJ School of Public Affairs. She’s currently serving her fourth term in the Texas Legislature.
Throughout her life, Vikki has strived to build a better Texas for her family, her clients and her constituents. Now, she has her sights set on returning sanity to Texas government and restoring a collaborative and cooperative spirit, putting aside things that divide us, with a focus on real issues, not distractions.
An Advocate for All Texans
Representative Vikki Goodwin is serving her fourth term in the Texas Legislature, representing parts of Austin and the Lake Travis area, and she is currently running for Lt. Governor of Texas. She is a passionate supporter of Texas public schools, has steadfastly voted against vouchers, and will continue to do so.
As a member of the Appropriations Article III Subcommittee overseeing education funding, she champions educational equity and access at all levels. Her priorities are to increase funding to public schools, housing affordability, water infrastructure, and access to healthcare.
For more about her stances, see her Priorities.
Vikki grew up in Dallas and moved to Austin in 1985 to attend the University of Texas, graduating with a BBA. She continued on to earn her masters, MPA, from the LBJ School of Public Affairs in 1991.
“We the people” means ALL people, regardless of their race, ethnicity, birthplace, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, reading habits, sports team… or any other box people try to sort us into.
I will always treat every Texan with
dignity, compassion and respect.
A Small Business Owner & Community Leader
In addition to raising a family in Southwest Austin, Vikki runs a residential real estate business with her husband. This has given Vikki a unique opportunity to work with — and listen to — Texans from all walks of life. She has first-hand knowledge of housing issues for both renters and owners, and she stays in regular communication with TXDOT to advocate for roads and improved mobility in the state.
Vikki also enjoys being active in her community. Most recently, she has spent time speaking to organizations about her experience in the Legislature and leadership. She regularly speaks to and volunteers with:
School associations
Rotary Club and other civic organizations
Scouting
Boys State - American Legion
Central Texas Food Bank
