Subdivisions with Green Building
Mueller (which no one knows for sure if it should be promounced "Miller" or "Mueller"!) was the first subdivision to incorporate green building into all the homes in the neighborhood, with encouragement and support from the city of Austin. Two of the original builders were David Weekley and Streetman Homes. Weekley's homes are 3-Star Green according to the Austin Green Building Program, while Streetman's homes are 5-Star Green. And there's Bradshaw Crossing where Lennar Homes is installing solar panels as a standard feature (from May, 2011 on). Currently the resale homes in Bradshaw Crossing don't have solar panels, but new construction homes do.
